Public Participation - Mayoral Election Process

This Public Participation Plan aims to engage the community in determining the method of electing the Mayor of Three Hills. Electing the Mayor is a significant matter that directly impacts local governance and community representation. The chosen method must balance accessibility, fairness, and inclusivity that reflects the community’s preferences and values. This discussion is particularly relevant as municipalities strive to ensure their electoral processes are democratic and reflect their unique contexts. The goal is to enhance civic engagement, ensure transparent decision-making, and foster trust between elected officials and the citizens. This process underscores the importance of local democracy.

The process of electing the Mayor significantly impacts residents by shaping local governance and community representation. This discussion is particularly important for the residents of Three Hills as it directly influences your ability to engage in the democratic process and have your voices heard. Ensuring a transparent and democratic election process enhances civic engagement, builds trust in local government, and ultimately leads to better decision-making that reflects the needs and aspirations of the community.
